User Instructions – Siemens Gigaset A58H Cordless Handset

The Siemens Gigaset A580 IP system using the provided A58H handset supports the use of several VoIP SIP providers.  The hosted PBX service by HostMyCalls supports the use of this Siemens cordless system.  It requires proper setup and configuration with an active VoIP SIP account provided by HostMyCalls.

The following instructions provide the handset user information on how to use the supported features of the HostMyCalls services.  All other features and operations of the handset or its base are provided by Siemens and are included with the equipment or online from the Siemens website http://gigaset.com.

Any setup or changes to the configuration of the system as received from HostMyCalls may change the access or operation needed to use the system as described below.

**Instructions apply to handset with the screen saver mode set to off**

Answer Call (idle mode)

  1. Call is ringing handset
  2. Press green phone icon button
    1. Call is answered in handset mode
    2. Talk via handset ear piece and mic

Or

  1. Press speaker icon button
    1. Call is answered via speakerphone mode
    2. Talk via speakerphone

Make Call – To External Numbers (idle mode)

  1. Enter 9 + 10 digit outside number
  2. Press green phone icon button
    1. Call is placed in handset mode
    2. Talk via handset ear piece and mic

Or

  1. Press speaker icon button
    1. Call is made via speakerphone mode
    2. Talk via speakerphone

Make Call – To Internal Extensions (idle mode)

  1. Enter a valid 4 digit extension number
  2. Press green phone icon button
    1. Call is placed in handset mode
    2. Talk via handset ear piece and mic

Or

  1. Press speaker icon button
    1. Call is made via speakerphone mode
    2. Talk via speakerphone

End Call (incoming or outgoing in progress)

  1. Press red handset button
    1. Call is terminated
    2. Handset returns to idle mode

Park Call (incoming or outgoing in progress)

  1. Press “Menu” soft button
  2. Press the down arrow key to display “External Call”
  3. Press “OK” soft button
  4. Enter a Park Zone number (Reference assigned range)
  5. Press the “Send” soft button
    1. Listen for conformation tone
  6. Press red handset button
    1. Call is place in the Park Zone
    2. Handset returns to idle mode

Retrieve Parked Call (handset is in idle mode)

  1. Enter the Park Zone code where call is parked (Reference assigned range)
  2. Press green phone icon button
    1. Call is answered in handset mode
    2. Talk via handset ear piece and mic

Or

  1. Press speaker icon button
    1. Call is answered via speakerphone mode
    2. Talk via speakerphone

Transfer a Call in Progress

  1. Press the “Menu” soft button
  2. Press the down arrow key to display “External Call”
  3. Press “OK” soft button
  4. Enter number (if a outside number press 9 + 10 digits)
  5. Press the “Send” soft button
    1. Listen for call connection
  6. Press red handset button twice
    1. Display shows “Transferred Call”
    2. Handset returns to idle mode

Conference a Call (with a call in progress)

  1. Press the “Menu” soft button
  2. Press the down arrow key to display “External Call”
  3. Press “OK” soft button
  4. Enter Number (if a outside number 9 + 10 digits)
  5. Press the “Send” soft button
    1. Establish second call
  6. Press the “Menu” soft button
    1. Display show “Conference Call”
  7. Press “OK” soft button
    1. All three parties are connected

End Conference Call

  1. Press red handset button
  2. All parties are disconnected
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Access Voice Mail Messages (handset is idle and has flashing message button)

  1. Press flashing message button
    1. Display shows quantity of new voice messages
  2. Press “OK” soft button
    1. Call is placed to user’s voicemail box
    2. Follow voice prompts to listen and manage messages
    3. Press red handset button to end voicemail access

Add Numbers to Personal Speed Dial Bins

(Available bin numbers are 7000 – 7009)

  1. Press the program code #193 the desired bin number then 9 plus the 10 digit phone number

(Example #193700098002426161)

  1. Press green phone icon button
    1. Confirmation tone is heard
  2. Press red handset button to end setup

Using Personal Speed Dial Bins (idle mode)

(Available bin numbers are 7000 – 7009)

  1. Press the desired bin number
  2. Press green phone icon button
    1. Call is placed in handset mode
    2. Talk via handset ear piece and mic

Or

  1. Press speaker icon button
    1. Call is made via speakerphone mode
    2. Talk via speakerphone

Activating the Flexicall Feature (idle mode)

(This HostMyCalls feature allows another telephone number to ring with all incoming calls simultaneously with the handset enabling the call to be answered from either the handset or any other telephone, such as a cell phone.  The telephone number must be stored in a speed dial bin)

  1. Press the Flexicall code #17710 then the target speed dial bin (example #177107000)
  2. Press green phone icon button
    1. Confirmation tone is heard
  3. Press red handset button to end activation setup

De-activating the Flexicall Feature (idle mode)

  1. Press the Flexicall de-activation  code #17710#10
  2. Press green phone icon button
    1. Confirmation tone is heard
    2. Press red handset button to de-activation

Call Forward – All Calls

  1. Press #8 and the speed dial bin that has the destination number stored

Or

  1. Press #8 + 199 to send calls to voicemail

Or

  1. Press #8 + station extension number
    1. Hear confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – Cancel All Calls

  1. Press #8 + #10
    1. Hear Confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – All External Calls

  1. Press #17702 and the speed dial bin that has the destination number stored

Or

  1. Press #17702 + 199 to send calls to voicemail

Or

  1. Press #17702 + station extension number
    1. Hear confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – Cancel External Calls

  1. Press #17702 + #10
    1. Hear Confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – All Calls if Busy

  1. Press #140 and the speed dial bin that has the destination number stored

Or

  1. Press #140 + 199 to send calls to voicemail

Or

  1. Press #140 + station extension number
    1. Hear confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – Cancel All Calls if Busy

  1. Press #140 + #10
    1. Hear confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – External Calls if Busy

  1. Press #17701 and the speed dial bin that has the destination number stored

Or

  1. Press #17701 + 199 to send calls to voicemail

Or

  1. Press #17701 + station extension number
    1. Hear confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – Cancel External Calls if Busy

  1. Press #17701 + #10
    1. Hear confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – All Calls if Busy or No Answer

  1. Press #2 and the speed dial bin that has the destination number stored

Or

  1. Press #2 + 199 to send calls to voicemail

Or

  1. Press #2 + station extension number
    1. Hear confirmation tone
  2. Press red handset button
    1. Handset returns to idle mode

Call Forward – Cancel All Calls if Busy or No Answer

  1. Press #2 + #10
